What is Ruby?

Ruby is a cross-platform interpreted language and pure object oriented programming language. Ruby has many features in common with other ‘scripting’ languages such as Perl and Python. It was designed and developed in the mid-1990s by Yukihiro “Matz” Matsumoto in Japan.
